Midnon was a thriving, fairly young kingdom, which, in exchange for its prosperity, harvested wood from its large surrounding forest and made it into elaborate pieces of...furniture.
It wasn't always like this - the kingdom used to use the lumber for houses and other more important building projects in other kingdoms. However, the new king couldn't handle such a large project, and therefore went into the furniture industry. Yes, King Cloud wasn't the brightest, and was rather indecisive, but he was a good King and took care of his kingdom. His parents had tragically drowned in the moat (they weren't too swift either) and had left everything to their 17-year-old prince. Now he was king, 25, and couldn't be happier...or more secretive.
Moreover, this kingdom, very unlike that of its enemy Jugar, actually had women in it. Among them, Queen Tifa was the fairest, kindest, and most loving there was. Unfortunately, however, she could not conceive. Some women found this a blessing on her part, as she was most desirable and did not have to worry about getting in trouble for her actions. But Tifa desperately wanted a son, and therefore, she and Cloud adopted their pride and joy...
23-year-old Reno.
The people of the kingdom were baffled as to why the couple would want to raise a son who was already an adult their age, but what they didn't know was that he was the only one left in the kingdom who could possibly be their son, and Tifa was up to the challenge of keeping such a rebel in check; and Reno was happy to be getting out of the ghetto and into a palace as large as theirs.
The entire plan backfired. He instantly fell in love with Tifa and hasn't backed down since.
So then the kingdom had a rather messed up royal family - a clueless King, a skanky Queen, and a hormone-driven rebel Prince.
At least there were others in the castle to bring a bit of normalcy...
...If you could ever call what went on daily normal.
Perhaps the only truly normal one there was Prince Reno's best friend Rude. Rude was quiet, and didn't like to get into trouble much, which was good for the Prince.
Then there were the Royal Advisors. The first was Barret, a brash man in his late twenties. He was always in bad temper, with a rough attitude, and not surprisingly, this caused a lot of headaches, especially when he always gave the king and queen bad advice.
Also, there was the noble Red. He was very intelligent, wise beyond his years, and could probably bring the kingdom unimaginable wealth, but then again, nobody listened to him. Why? you may ask. Well, would you trust the advice of an unidentifiable animal? I think not. So poor Red was constantly made fun of, and not even listened to, and was kept chained up in the throne room. But oh well.
For further entertainment, there was Court Jester Palmer. He was slow, fat, and stupid. And that's funny.
The kingdom had a brilliant military as well, led by General Zack. He was a dark beauty, with a wild streak and muscles that made all the ladies drool. Unfortunately, he was gay. (Go figure.) He lived in the castle as well, in the same wing as the Royal Family.
He also had a sister, named Elena. But Elena was a little different. Not in a bad way though. She was...a fairy. And not the kind of fairy her brother was, either. I mean a real fairy, a tiny person with iridescent wings and a wand and all. She was a good friend of the Queen's, and often spent time giving her personal advice and beauty tips and all that girlie stuff. She also used her magic to this effect.
And so it went, in the Kingdom, that the sun shone brightly, like a favorable omen, among the trees and lakes, and all the happy, cute little forest creature frolicked gaily. Meanwhile, the castle's occupants went about their normal work, which brings us to present day, where more mayhem is about to unfold...
